Adult Learners Mosaic 2008 - 2009
A network member visited beautiful Raglan last year and participated in a community project to save the harbour's Maui dolphins. Everyone was taking part and helping to create a wonderful piece of art that would take pride of place in their community.
Why not try something similar in Manukau?
The design needed to be inclusive of all adult learners and it needed to represent everyone in Manukau City. We used the network logo to incorporate the gathering net and the pikopiko fronds symbolising the diverse groups in the TKOM network and in Manukau City.
It incorporates:

  • he tangata
  • all cultures living and learning together in one society
  • all adults
  • respect for others
  • acknowledgement of the wisdom and knowledge of those who have gone before us
  • participation and having a 'go'

Thanks to Robyn Pelham.

The Unveiling by Mayor Len Brown September 11
This took place on a very windy Friday morning at Age Concern Manukau, 250 Puhinui Road, Papatoetoe.

Congratulations to everyone who took part. Drop in and take a look - it belongs to us all!
